What’s In Her Genes
"by Artie Dean Harris"
This song is a fun, up tempo attention getter, creatively written around the play
on the words "genes" and "jeans". Listen closely to the lyrics, don't let them
fool you.

This song developed from a television interview. A race car driver was asked the
question, "What makes you such a talented driver"? He replied "I come from a family
history of successful drivers. I guess it's in my genes". I thought... what a
cool way for Wrangler or any jeans company to advertise their product. Then it
hit me...what about a song..."It's In My Genes"...no what about..."What's In My
Genes"...no "What's In Her Genes"...Yeah! That's it! This will be fun I said.
Once I had the title, the concept and the story was easy. Two hours later I had
completed the song.

There was a period of time when my car had no radio. This was great because I
was forced to entertain myself. I would sing away at the wheel, particularly on
the long stretch to my girlfriend's house. The day I wrote this song, I arrived
at her house and asked what she had been doing that day. Of course she had been
shopping and because I had been writing on the way to her house, I jokingly said,
"I'm going to write a song about you shopping." And then the light went off. It's
amazing how a simple joke can be created into a great song when you are in that
creative zone. I thought to myself right then...what a great idea, a girl that's
shopping not for clothes but for a guy. So I began to write down as many words
that I could think of related to shopping: bargain, midnight madness, perfect
fit, display, etc. and that night on the twenty minute drive home "One Hell Of
A Deal" was completed thanks to my creativity and Jennifer Ann's love for shopping.
Tractor Factor
If you like country and are proud of it, than you will
be just as proud of this song as we are. *HINT* Tractor Factor is best enjoyed
at a high level of volume while driving your car with the windows down.

This song was written for the true country fan. Tractor Factor describes a boy's
simple approach to life and why a certain woman finds his style to be attractive.

This is my favorite story to tell about writing a song. I was in the drive through
line at the bank four cars away from the window. All of a sudden the idea that
many liquors had guys names popped into my head. I began to ramble off as many
as I could think off. Jim, Jack & José made the cut. By the time I pulled up to
the window, I had the entire song completed on the back of my deposit slip. Jim,
Jack, &José has now become the crowd favorite.
